Warm weather is upon us and it’s time to turn to to outdoor dining and fresh, seasonal produce! Last Friday we d some grilling tips and tricks to get your started on the right foot this season. This week we have a healthy and easy recipe for fruit kabobs and cinnamon cream cheese dipping sauce to compliment your fabulous grilled concoctions!

Fruit kabobs are a fun way to serve fruit—think of them as fruit salad on a stick! Not only are they beautiful to look at, they are easy to make ahead of time, kid-friendly and healthy too. While these make wonderful desserts they can also be used as a healthy and easy-to-eat appetizer or hors d’eourve for a dinner party as well.

You can use any of your favorite fruits but popular choices are:

  • strawberries
  • cantaloupe
  • pineapple
  • oranges
  • honeydew
  • kiwi
  • grapes
  • blueberries
  • bananas

To prepare the fruit, cube larger fruits like cantaloupe or pineapples and slice bananas. Kiwi and oranges can be sliced into wedges with the skin intact. Once the fruit is cut simply add your fruit to wooden skewers and chill until ready to serve. Adding the fruit in rainbow color order makes presentation extra special, especially for children!

To compliment your fruit kabobs, make this sweet cinnamon cream cheese dipping sauce to serve on the side-it’s delectable mix of flavors are the perfect extra touch!
