Halloween is just around the corner—how about creating an easy Halloween tablescape to celebrate? With some simple inexpensive decorations, items from around the house, and layered table linens you can create this creepy, crawly tablescape sure to delight you friends and family!

The foundation layer for this tablescape is a white tablecloth—consider using a liquid repellant tablecloth to help avoid the stains that inevitably accompany entertaining.

Over the tablecloth layer black placemats followed by simple white dishes. Using a sublty patterned placemat like these black on black damask placemats would add an extra special touch. Add orange napkins to give the table a punch of color and solidify the theme reflected in the whimsical “Happy Halloween” blocks that decorate the centerpiece.

Vintage silver candelabras adorned with black tapered candles are given a creepy coating of faux spiderwebs—easily found at any dollar or discount store. And of course we cannot have spiderwebs without spiders! To create this easy DIY decoration inexpensive dollar store spider rings were snipped with scissors to remove the ring base and arranged across the table as well as atop the napkins.

To compliment your Halloween tablescape consider serving a green punch labelled as “Witch’s Brew.” To make it extra creepy float plastic bugs in the punch bowl or better yet, freeze ice in a clean plastic glove for a hand shaped ice cube!
