Preparing a Thanksgiving Dinner can be stressful so remembering to keep it simple and fresh is my key to success. I love using ready to eat seasonal fruit in Fall colors, Sunflowers or Orange Tulips and leftover Halloween pumpkins (assuming they are still good) to decorate the tables.
The Havana Faux Burlap Linens are easily spruced up without ironing with a quick mist of water from a spray bottle followed 5-10 minutes in the dryer using low heat then removed promptly. Without a doubt, these are my favorite and most versatile table linens I have ever owned.
I have shown two ideas below for the dining room table, one with colorful Italian dishes from Deruta and one with plain creamy white dishes. I enjoy setting the table the day or two before an important meal so I have something pretty to look at while prepping and preparing the meal. My holiday ritual includes watching the chefs Thanksgiving menus and tips on Food Network in the days before Thanksgiving followed by the Macy’s Day Parade and the Purina Dog Show on the big day 🙂
Before all that can happen though, here’s some of what I do to help remind myself of just how lucky I am and how much I have to be grateful and thankful for on Thanksgiving Day:
Closet cleaning and donating gently used clothing to the local women’s shelter and thrift stores, donating toys the children’s hospital and to local families in need, donating non-perishable food or money to local food banks and Salvation Army, reaching out or sending cards to those dealing with a lost loved one and extending an invitation to someone who is alone, without family.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Holiday Season with Family, Friends & Loved ones.
