A quick browse of Pinterest will show some predominant wedding decor trends taking over more traditional decor. Here are three of the most popular trends taking over weddings this year.

Shabby Chic

The shabby chic look is all the rage in home decor as well as weddings and other events. One of the easiest ways to achieve this look at your wedding is by integrating burlap and lace. Try decorating your table with burlap table runners and lace overlays or wrap mason jar vases with layers of burlap and lace for a rustic but elegant look. Adding chalkboard signs and vintage elements such as chairs and antique vases completes the look.

Luxury Indulgence

There’s no better time to indulge in a luxe look than at your wedding. Some of the hallmarks of this look are the use of neutral tones with varying textures (think satin and suede linens) along with metallic accents and blush pinks. This look is all about extravagance but it doesn’t necessarily need an extravagant budget. Consider renting table linens instead of purchasing them and DIY metallic accents to save money—vases and other thrift store finds can be spray painted uniform metallic colors to unify their look and add bling without a big investment.

Integrating the Outdoors

Bring the outdoors into your event by adding natural elements to the decor. Branches and wood elements can be integrated as centerpieces or even plate chargers. (These are also great elements to DIY like this tutorial for DIY branch candle holders.) Natural botanical garlands can be integrated as chair decor, table runners, backdrops, or even cake decor. Choosing organic unstructured bouquets that look fresh out of the garden over more formal styles is another easy way to give your wedding a natural feel.
