We are officially on the cusp of summer and it’s the perfect time to start thinking about hosting a summer party! There are so many different summer party themes to choose from, you really can’t go wrong—here are a few favorites to get you inspired!

Patriotic

With Memorial Day and the 4th of July just over a month apart, a patriotic party theme is a natural choice for summer entertaining. Break out your red, white and blue and be sure to check out these patriotic party ideas and consider serving one of these amazing patriotic desserts!

Luau

The Hawaiian word lu’au translates to feast, and what better way to usher in summer than hosting a tropical luau party! Encourage your guests to sport grass skirts, leis, and flowered attire to keep with the theme and serve Hawaiian dishes such as roasted pork and poi. Don’t forget to decorate with plenty of tropical flowers. Hibiscus is perfect for a luau and easily found in garden centers this time of year.

Pool Party

Al Fresco

Hosting a party al fresco, or outdoors, is the perfect way to take advantage of summer temperatures. If the temperatures are already soaring in your area, hosting your event in the evening can help keep guests comfortable. String outdoor patio lights or decorate with tiki torches to add light that is not only decorative but functional as well. Serve food cooked on the grill and use ice buckets to keep drinks cool. If insects are an issue, spray the party area with insecticide in advance of the party.
