Now that the summer is in full swing in most areas one of my very favorite flowers has started to make appearances everywhere-the peony. With it’s overflowing abundance of petals and varying shades of pink it has solidified it’s place as a floral superstar. Today I’m sharing a simple and easy summer tablescape inspired by those beautiful blooms!

My table starts with a versatile foundation-the white tablecloth. I chose a liquid resistant tablecloth that gives extra defense against stains. Layered over the white base is a soft, luxuriant faux burlap table runner. This runner gives the look of trendy burlap without the shedding and fraying that traditional burlap can have.

Soft cottonique napkins folded under the place setting serve to add an accent to the beautiful pink of the peonies. Draping the napkins over the table edge breaks up the white of the tablecloth in a unique way.

Simple white dishes and traditional flatware and allow the table linens and decor be the star of the show. Three scattered succulents decorate the table in white ceramic dishes to add an additional touch of summer and reflect the simplicity of the table colors.

White candles and candlesticks and a decorative urn finish off the tablescape adding interest in their varying heights while maintaining the floral arrangement as the focal point.

By pairing down unnecessary details and embracing simplicity this easy summer tablescape takes advantage of the beautiful flowers this time of year offers and can easily be adapted for any of your favorite blooms.
