I’ve got Irish blood in me – and not just on St. Patrick’s Day. I even have green Irish eyes. Everyone on my dad’s side of the family (the Irish side) loves sweets. That’s why I’ve gathered my top ten green St. Patrick’s Day Sweets – just in case you have some sweet snack lovers in your family.

First, let’s combine sweet and salty by decorating some pretzels. The Rebel Chick shows how easy it is to dip pretzels with her well written St. Patrick’s Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods recipe.

Go a step further and turn your pretzels into shamrocks by following JW Illustration’s Shamrock Pretzel Pop easy instructions. Jessica says these pretzels make great classroom treats.

Need another classroom treat idea? What kid would love these Leprechaun Hat S’mores from the Cake Blog? There’s no baking – just the assembling of a few simple ingredients. Carrie says “they’re magically delicious!”

How about some Irish Dirt Cakes from Outnumbered 3 to 1? Although they look labor intensive, they’re actually pretty easy. And they’re so darn cute. You could put them in single serve glasses or a large trifle bowl.

Speaking of trifle bowls, Pampered by Melissa layers brownies, pudding, whip cream, and creme de menthe candies to make this awesome St. Patrick’s Day Trifle. Melissa is a Pampered Chef consultant, so you know she has good recipes.

If you like the combination of chocolate and cream cheese (and who doesn’t?) you will love this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. These Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Brownies are decadent and “swirly”. They taste even better than they look!

Serving fruit for St. Paddy’s day? Put together pudding and cool whip and you’ll have this delicious Pistachio Fruit Dip. Kelly from Live Laugh Rowe blog says you can add a little green food coloring to make this dip a darker shade of green if you wish.

Here’s another dip recipe from a blog that specializes in dips, Dip Recipe Creations. Darlene says this Grasshopper Pie Dip is good with chocolate graham crackers, Oreos, chocolate wafers, or just a spoon;-)

Don’t have a sweet tooth? That’s okay. I guess. You would love these St. Patrick’s Day Deviled Eggs from FOODjimoto. If you already have a favorite deviled egg recipe, just take the extra step of coloring the egg whites. (Add some ham on the side and make Dr. Seuss happy, too;-)

Thirsty after all this delicious green food? Make a quick Shamrock Punch using this two-ingredient recipe from the Passion For Savings blog. It couldn’t be easier!

I hope you like these St. Patrick’s Day sweets. But remember . . . Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and fat. (Alex Levine)
